Jewell Dean  Shepherd
Jewell Dean Shepherd, 87, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Saint Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center. He was born June 20, 1928 in Robertson County, son of the late Elmer and Anna Cloe Shepherd and was a member of Trinity First Church of God. Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Juanita Shepherd. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda J. (Bobby) Crump, Carlisle, Dianne Brannock and the late Gary Brannock, Nicholas County; a son, Roger D. Shepherd and special friend, Nancy Stacy, Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Rose Howell, Marion, Indiana; six grandchildren, Angie Hatton, Anthony Crump, Kellie (Phillip) Isaacs, Katie (John) McCarty, Deanna Shepherd, Shane Shepherd; eight great grandchildren, Adam Tubbs, Makensie Rudder, Breanna Crump, Preston Crump, Riley Crump, Josie Isaacs, Brody Isaacs, Jadin Isaacs; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Ellison, Sara Cole; and three brothers, Shirley, Edward, and Harlan Shepherd. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Brother William E. Singleton with burial in the Ellis Cemetery, Robertson County. Casket bearers will be Anthony Crump, Brody Isaacs, Phillip Isaacs, Adam Tubbs, John McCarty, and Roger D. Shepherd. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Watkins, Kenny Gill, Jim Ellington, and Paul Wayne Ellington. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity First Church of God.
