Virginia  Wasson (Brown)

Virginia Brown Wasson, 97, widow of Leonard A. Wasson went to be with her Lord on November 30, 2016. She was born on October 28, 1919 at White Oak, Morgan County, Kentucky to the late John Franklin Brown and Nannie Hall Brown. She was a1939 graduate of Millersburg High School. She is survived by one son, Merle (Janice) Wasson, Paris, KY; and two daughters, Gloria Smits, Coppell, TX, and Joan Boardman, Paris, KY. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Marlen Drew, Mark Wasson, Christopher Wasson, Bret Boardman, and Rachel Ryan. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Tara and Travis Gibson, Quinlen Drew, Zachary, Gunnar and Gabriel Wasson, Caleb and Xavier Wasson, Jesse and Corbin Boardman, Angus and Rory Ryan; and one great, great granddaughter, Rylie Noel Gibson. Survivors also include one brother, John Woodson Brown of Robinson, IL; and sisters, Louise Smith (Gerard), Newport News, VA, and La Faun Neal, Lexington, KY.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Berlyn, Jack, and Finley Brown; and a sister, Jane Keeton.
Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Paris, a devoted mother and a country cook who had few equals. She was employed most of her adult life in retail sales
Visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 5th, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with service to follow at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Rex Graham and Rev. Jeff Bell. Interment to follow at Paris Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bret Boardman, Eoin Ryan, Tim Brown, Doug Garrison, Robert Banta, and Bill Caldwell.
