Carol

I quit school in the ninth grade.severl years later I was attending a Bath football game with my to little girls on each side of me.Carol approach me and said very sternly this is my last year teaching adult ed and I want to see your butt in my class!!! Now even in my middle twenties and even without her Red devil in her hand it never never dawn on me to say no. I needed all credits for 9th through 12th wow I'm mean she stuck with me like glue and stayed on an extra year just to make sure I graduated. With my family in the bleachers I received my deploma and was able to acquire Avery good Job that prove to be a great source of income for myself and family. All because of Carols dedication to see a struggleing student I have had a successful life I am so happy that I told her then and anytime after that. Many years went by and I found her through people search.I called her she was like Dotty !Dotty Van ostran ? I said yes Carol I have been thinking a lot about you and just wanted you to know the effort you put into helping me paid off and my life is good .I just wanted to thank you again. She responded Oh Dotty its raining here in Kentucky And the Sun just came out right here in my liveing room. She said I live for these phone calls . We talked along time and she said I would love to visit Michigan again and see everyone but I'm not sure how to do it .With the help of her family and the help of some great friends Leo ,Susie and Barb and a few more and of course the legion we did it was so much fun watching her interact with manyof her students from years past she was so happy. I love love you.you will be missed and I'm sure the Angels are glad to get you and that fantastic voice of yours.R. I.P my dear dear friend Love Love Dotty Mckenzie
