Karen Lee  Sharp (Hurst)
Karen Lee Hurst Sharp, 61, a retired pharmacy technician at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, wife of Tracy Sharp, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home. She was born December 27, 1955 in Paris, daughter of Ramona Poe Hurst and the late Howard Keith Hurst. Karen was a 1974 graduate of Bourbon County High School and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and Women on Mission. In addition to her husband and mother, Karen is survived by a son, Lee (Tess) Sharp; daughter, Dana (Lafe) Hurst; grandson, Lafayette Hurst; two brothers, Philip (Toni) Hurst, Paul (Christy) Hurst; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Doug Sharp; and her nieces and nephews, Adam (Ashley) Hurst, Amy (Jonathon) Graves and their daughter, Brynna, Matt Horne, Tyler (Ava) Hurst, Katie Hurst, and Jacob Hurst. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at First Baptist Church by Rev. Don Reed. Casket bearers will be Jacob Hurst, Tyler Hurst, Adam Hurst, Katie Hurst, Matt Horne, Jonathon Graves, and Garrison Farr. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to First Baptist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
