Obituary for Charles M. Jones

Charles M.  Jones
Charles M. Jones, 69, a farmer and retired GTE employee, U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, husband of Helen Biddle Jones, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Lexington VA Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1948 in Bath County, son of the late Harold Johnson and Lucy Guy Jones and was a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Jones Scott; two grandsons, Jonathan Caz Scott, William Justice Scott; a great granddaughter, Conley Jay Scott; four brothers, Harold J. Jones, James Lewis (Deborah) Jones, Virgil Reed (Debbie) Jones, Rex E. Jones; two sisters, Alberta K. Russell, Mary M. (Jim) Dunn; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Joe Jones, Bobby Wayne Jones; three sisters, Stella Mae Jones, Imogene Jones, Geneva Jones Courtney; and his loving father-in-law and mother-in-law, William E. and Adele Wilson Biddle. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at Hinton-Turner Funeral by Chris Collier and John Sparks with burial at North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John Scott, Jonathan Scott, William Justice Scott, Eric Biddle, Del Wayne Biddle Jr, John Sparks, Randy Sparks, and Ricky Biddle. Honorary bearers will be Greg Lyle, Michael Scenters, John Evans III, Ricky Sparks, Will Southerland, Randy True, Steve Florence, Doug Witt, Arnie McFarland, Bob Dailey, Glenn Mackey, and all of his nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Spears Mill Baptist Church or North Middletown Cemetery.
