Elizabeth Ann "Betsy"  Meteer
Elizabeth “Betsy” Ann Meteer, 99, a farmer, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Homestead Nursing Home. She was born March 20, 1918 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Deeming Meteer. Betsy was a lifelong resident of Bourbon County and had been an active farmer from a very young age due to the untimely death of her father. Elizabeth was a graduate of Paris High School and attended Transylvania College. She had been active in the preservation of Bourbon County history and was a member of Paris-Bourbon County Historical Society, Lexington Woman’s Club, and Paris First Presbyterian Church. Betsy is survived by a daughter, Betsy White (Ken) Kayser, Catawba, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a son, William Meteer White, and a special friend, Paul Carter. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, at the Paris Cemetery Chapel by Rev. Linda Maconochie. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
