Obituary for Barbara Ann Lanter

Barbara Ann  Lanter
Barbara Lanter, 87, passed away March 29, 2018 at Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Barbara was born in Paris to Walter and Maude Keith Barnett and remained a lifelong Paris resident. She enjoyed reading and genealogy and could often be found at the Paris-Bourbon County Library.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Tommy Lanter. They were married in Paris and are survived by daughter Beverly (Mark) Davis of Tampa, FL & son Ron Lanter of Pasadena, TX. Tommy and Barbara shared a love for Yorkies and survived two wonderful companions, Dugee & Sawyer.
She was known as “Grannie” to her three grandchildren, Nicole and Adam Davis of Tampa, FL and Jeffie Lanter of Mandeville, LA. She is also survived by her beloved Yorkie, Maggie Maude; who provided special company over the past seven years after Tommy’s passing.
Barbara was loved & supported by several close friends and family over the past several years; her nephew James Brady, Joyce and Jerry Weaver, Cindy Crump, Stephanie Brady, Meagan Brady, Maggie Prosser (Tampa), her First United Methodist Church family, and her Hospice angels - Jolene, Kim, Zack, and Pastor Rick of Bluegrass Care Navigators.
Visitation will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Monday, April 2, from 6-8pm, with funeral services on Tuesday, April 3 at 2pm presided by Rev. Dan Russell. Pallbearers include: Mark Davis, Adam Davis, Nicole Davis, James Edwin Brady, Jerry Weaver & Paul Cliff. Honorary pallbearers are Joyce Weaver, Stephanie Brady & Cindy Crump.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Bluegrass Care Navigators.
