Obituary for Carolyn Connell (Stroud)

Carolyn Stroud Connell, 79, a retired attorney-at-law, died Friday, November 16, 2018 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born September 6, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of the late Clifford L. and Dorothy Nelson Stroud.
Carolyn was a graduate of University High School in Lexington, attended Finch College in New York, and graduated from the Patterson School at the University of Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1968, where she received the Order of the Coif, and was one of three women in her graduating class.
As a high school student in the 1950’s, she broadcast the weather on WLEX, Channel 18 and was known as “Carolyn the Weather Girl.” Later, she studied acting in New York under Stella Adler and made the acquaintance of Suzanne Pleshette, Vincent Gardenia, and Grace Slick.
Carolyn is survived by a son, Raymond Campbell Connell; a granddaughter, Clementine Marie Connell; and a grandson, John Elias Connell.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church with burial in Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Lexington Children’s Theater.
