Obituary for Donald Lee Porter

Donald Lee Porter, 83, of the Levy, a retired IBM employee, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1935 in Fleming County, son of the late Orville Frank and Clara Belle Bradley Porter. Donald was a graduate of Sharpsburg High School, a member of Little Rock Christian Church, attended Peyton’s Lick Christian Church, and served in the United States National Guard for many years.
Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Dunaway Porter; two daughters, Donna Gail Pendleton, Deanna Charles Foley; three grandchildren, Jessica Leighann Pendleton, Ryan Dane (Ashley) Foley, Tanner Brice Foley; and three great grandchildren, his “little persons”, Brody Grant Harris, Claire Ryan Foley, and Heidi Wren Foley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Chuck Perry with burial in Longview Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ryan Foley, Tanner Foley, Kenny Mac Hinkle, Gary Lee Flanders, Nelson Dunaway, Jeff Robinson, Ricky Bridges, and Timmy Bohanan. Honorary bearers will be Buddy Dawson, Kenny Boyd, Marvin Geeslin, Darryl Mattox, Harold Grooms, John Dunaway, Bill Martin, Ricky Foley, C.D. Dunaway, and Harold Soper. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
