Obituary for Albert Joseph Lane

Albert Joseph Lane, husband of Candace “Candy” Ballengee Lane, departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky, having attained the age of 74 years. Albert was born on June 15, 1948, in Winchester, Kentucky the son of the late Russell John and Maple Katherine Sparks Lane, received his associate degree from the University of Kentucky, and was the Dental Lab Director at Southeast U.S. prison system. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War, was active in the backpack program at First Presbyterian Church where he was a member, a docent at Hopewell Museum, former docent at Ward Hall, and enjoyed helping the children.
In addition to his wife Candy, he is survived by a daughter, Katherine (Neil) Wallace; a granddaughter, Lillian Elizabeth Wallace; his siblings, Katherine (Billy) Langfels, Verla (Patrick) Willett, Frances (Joseph) Sapp; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Lane.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jose’ Luis Casal officiating, visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Wallis Home, 616 Pleasant Street, Paris, Kentucky.
