Obituary for Anne Elizabeth Grimes (McClanahan)

Anne Elizabeth McClanahan Grimes, wife of the late Chester Grimes, passed away November 20, 2019 at Bourbon Heights, having attained the age of 97 years. She was born in Paris, KY on October 5, 1922, the daughter of the late Forrest and Lila McClanahan. She was a 1941 graduate of Paris High School, homemaker, former member of the Bourbon County Homemakers, former member of Paris First United Methodist Church and had joined the Catholic Church of the Annunciation.

Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn (Garland) George, Martha (Destry) Moore; a son, Larry (Gail) Grimes; and six grandchildren, Amy (Sean) Brady, Bradley (Michelle) George, Bree (Chris) Garrison, Joseph (Jessica) Moore, Gina (Eric) Sanders, and Lori (Matthew) Hatton. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, Conner and Cameron Brady, Merrick and Atticus George, Grant, Samuel, and Jack Garrison, and Ave Kate and Hazel Moore.

The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation with the Rev. Daniel Fister officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the church until time for the Mass to begin. Burial will follow in Paris Cemetery with pallbearers being Destry Moore, Joseph Moore, Sean Brady, Cameron Brady, Chris Garrison, and Grant Garrison.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Bourbon Heights. Momma was a resident there for fourteen years and was always treated with much love and respect.
