Obituary for Betty Bohanan Martin (Williams)

Betty Jean Williams Bohanan Martin, age 84 of Paris, wife of Floyd Martin, departed this life on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Bourbon Community Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Bourbon County on June 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Dee Clinton and Pauline Mae Elam Williams, a 1953 graduate of North Middletown High School, a retired dietary assistant at Bourbon Heights and a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Eugene Bohanan, in 1997, and a son, Mike Bohanan.
In addition to her husband Floyd, she is survived by a daughter, Vickie Manion (Benny) of Glasgow, KY; two sons, Timmy Bohanan (Sandra) of Paris, and Anthony “Tony” Bohanan (Tim Shelton) of Lexington, KY. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael “Timbo” Bohanan (Mandy Grant), Kayla Bohanan (Danny Rader), and Laura “Nikki” Tolson; a sister, Clarine Howell; a brother Ronnie Sosby (Mardell); two great grandchildren, Laney and Ryker Rader; a step-daughter, Darlene Woosley (Bill); a step-son, Larry Martin (Christy); a step-grandson, Chris Martin (Leslie); two step-great grandchildren, Landon Martin, Ethan Martin; three sisters-in-law, Mamie Bussell, Lucille Wilson, Bertie Bohanan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Betty Jean Bohanan Martin will be at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Philip Ronk officiating. Interment will follow in North Middletown Cemetery with casket bearers being Michael Bohanan, Danny Rader, Benny Manion, Chris Martin, Robbie Bohanan, Steve Howell, Jeff Walling and James Walling. Honorary bearers are Larry Martin, Nellie Rankin, Eddie Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Joe Wilson, Bill Woosley, Gene Clay Elam, Larry Elam, Bobby Brewer, Buddy Florence, Tim Shelton, Donnie Goodpaster, Jimmy Goodpaster, Billy Stamper, Floyd and Wilma Davis and the deacons at Spears Mill Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday, January 30, 2020 at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
