Obituary for Billie Lee Copher (Whittington)

Billie Lee Whittington Copher, widow of Lloyd Wilburn Copher, departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2020, in Lexington, having attained the age of 93 years. She was born August 14, 1927, in Fremont, Virginia, the daughter of the late Partee and Ola Hughes Whittington. She was a former member of the Ruddles Fort Homemakers, Rose Rebekah Lodge #7, and a member of the First Church of God in Lexington. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Doug Copher; a grandson, Michael Copher; brothers, Portland Whittington, Jerome Whittington; sisters, Shirley Walker, Linda Palmer, Nancy Sewell, and Ruby Whittington.

Surviving is a daughter, Pat (John) Martin; a son, Phillip (Sandy) Copher; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Copher. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Marcus (Shelby) Martin, Mandy (Michael) Scott, Katie (Aaron) Wilson, Madison Copher, McKaylee, Copher; great grandchildren, Seth Martin, Hunter Martin, Samantha Martin, Gracie Scott, Norah Scott, Colton Wilson, and Lauren Wilson; a brother-in-law, Ralph Palmer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Billie Lee Whittington Copher will be on Friday, October 30, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Chaplain Tyler Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being Marcus Martin, Michael Scott, Seth Martin, Hunter Martin, Aaron Wilson, and John Martin. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
