Obituary for Charlie Fryman Jr.

O. Charles "Charlie" Fryman, Jr., widower of Shirley Marie Cain Fryman, departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Bourbon Community Hospital, having attained the age of 90 years. He was born in Bourbon County on September 13, 1930, the son of the late O.C. "Buck" and Claudia Tobin Fryman. Charlie grew up on Claiborne Farm where his dad was the foaling manager and was a graduate of Paris High School where he played football. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War and was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation. Charlie was a former employee of Dura Corporation and retired from IBM where he worked as a manufacturing engineer. He was a member of Paris City Club and Millersburg American Legion Post #257. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two infant children, Cheryl Marie and Gregory Lee Fryman.

Charlie was a beloved father and granfather and is survived by a daughter, Catherine Marie "Cathy" (Myron Kim) Hill; two sons, Charles Edmund (Jody) Fryman, Kevin Wayne (Anjeanette) Fryman; six grandchildren, Jason (Rebecca) Mitchell, Cody (Kelsey) Hill, Jacob Fryman, Baylie (Kevin) Dufour, Collin Fryman, and Kylie Lynn Fryman. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Taylor Mitchell, Kennedi Mitchell, Jasie Mitchell, Elliott Hill, Cameron Banta, Brooklyn Orrand, Gracelyn Ring; a brother, Daniel (Marion) Fryman; a sister-in-law, Helen Carol Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial for O. Charles "Charlie" Fryman, Jr., will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation officiated by Rev. Daniel Fister. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with casket bearers being Reuben Turner, Frank Cartmill, Randy Thwaites, Rob Zoller, Jason Mitchell, Cody Hill, Collin Fryman, and Jacob Fryman. Honorary bearers will be Joe Fryman, Steve Tobin, Ralph Tobin, Tommy Tobin, and Pat Nichols. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
