Claude Mitchell, Sr., of Cynthiana, widower of Katherine Davis Mitchell, died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center on November 28, 2019, having attainted the age of 84. He was born on July 9, 1935, in Bourbon County, the son of the late Charlie K. and Lillian Waugh Mitchell, a Navy Veteran and retired from Kentucky Textiles having worked as a sewing machine mechanic.

He is survived by his children Claude (Audra) Mitchell, Jr., Charles Dean (Karen) Mitchell, Chester E. Mitchell, Charlena (Brad) Smithberger, and Clay Mitchell (Ruth Howard). Also surviving are his stepchildren, Katherine (James) Lynch, and Timothy Wayne Garrison; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
