Daniel Owens “Dan” Jefferson of Paris departed this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Health Care Good Samaritan Hospital having attained the age of 83 years. Daniel was born on November 06, 1939, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, the son of the late William Doty Jefferson, and was raised by his grandparents, Ira and Lettie Froge Jefferson. He was a graduate of Paris High School, a veteran of the United States Navy, the former owner of Eagle Industrial, worked several years for Taylor-Parker, and was retired, having worked in industrial sales for Kaman Industrial Products. You would often find him outdoors enjoying both fishing and gardening, as he had a love for both. He was of the Christian faith.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley Doyle Jefferson; a brother, William Franklin (Betty) Jefferson; a niece, Laura (Lee) Johnson; and a nephew, Kevin (Sarah) Jones. Also surviving are his great niece and nephews, Alex (Mahsa) Johnson, Drew (Jenna) Jones, Shelby Johnson, and his dog, Luke.
A private service will be held for Daniel Owens “Dan” Jefferson at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with celebrant Sharon Berry officiating. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Lee Johnson, Kevin Jones, Alex Johnson, and Drew Jones.
