Obituary for Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Barnes (Haley)

Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Barnes, 93, widow of Harry Milton Barnes, Jr., went to be with her LORD and Savior on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born April 17, 1927 in Brooksville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Tom and Ella Galbraith Haley. Betty was a graduate of Brooksville High School and Kaufman Beauty School. She operated her own beauty salon in Falmouth and also assisted at the Bourbon Heights Beauty Shop. Betty was an active member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a choir member.
Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Butch Johnston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Kathy Barnes, Steve and Lisha Barnes, all of Paris; five grandchildren, Haley Johnston Wood, Franklin, Tennessee, Whitney and Wesley Witt, Orlando, Florida, Brock and Kara Barnes, Paris, Joe Barry Barnes, Paris, Mary and Daryl Bauer, Lexington, Zachary and Chelsea Stanfield, Winchester; and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will hold a private service with Rev. Jonathan Graves officiating. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Central Baptist Church, 828 High Street, Paris, Kentucky 40361 or In Touch Ministries, PO Box 7900, Atlanta, Georgia 30357.
