Obituary for Fred D. Norton

Fred D. Norton, 63, of Millersburg, died Monday, April 19, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born November 22, 1957 in Newport, Tennessee, son of the late Doyle and Mary “Maggie” Norton Valentine. Fred worked as an installer for Everburn and worked with Mister P Express and, in his spare time, enjoyed playing cards, riding bikes, tinkering and rebuilding items, gardening, dogs, and basketball. As a final act of giving, Fred was an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Huff; a daughter, Minnie (Jose) Figueroa; son, Dallas Fleming, two sisters, Betty (Jimmy) Riddle, Susie Barton; a brother, Earl Spurgeon; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his dogs, Little Bit, Ace, Piper, Marley; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Spurgeon; and a nephew, Danny Jason “Tooter” Spurgeon.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Kim Davis. Honorary bearers will be Jonathan Creamer, Jose Figueroa, Brandon Barton, Dewight Thompson, Dr. Kent Davis, and Dr. Allan Parnell. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), 6 Legion Drive, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
