Harry Coe Sargent, Sr. of Versailles, husband of Mary Anne Owens Sargent, departed this life on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Hospice Care Unit, having attained the age of 77 years. Harry was born in Bourbon County on January 25, 1946, the son of the late Floyd and Gertrude Franklin Sargent and worked for CSX Railroad. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and bingo. After retirement he worked part-time at the Versailles Kroger and attended Athens Christian Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roger Sargent, Jackie Sargent, Ronnie Sargent, Carole Jean Tubbs, Mary Frances Overly, and Patsy Cook.

In addition to his wife Mary Anne, he is survived by a daughter, Gail (Kenny) Tipton; son, Harry Coe (Lisa) Sargent, Jr.; stepson, Lawrence Sears; grandchildren, Caitlin (Matt) Brandenburg, Brook (Rathe) Stephens, Joshua (Hannah) Sargent; great grandchildren, Prestyn Morris, Kenley Morris, Rylee Stephens, and Olivia Stephens. Also surviving is a brother, Bobby (Linda) Sargent; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda (Vernon) Holbrook, Wanda Smith, and Alice (Billy) Smith.

The funeral service for Harry Coe Sargent, Sr. will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Athens Christian Church, Lexington, Kentucky, with Rev. Robert Warren officiating. Interment will be in Paris cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
