Obituary for Hazel Marie Hinkle (Green)

Hazel Marie Hinkle, widow of Melvin Burns Hinkle, passed away Friday, October 9, 202 at Bourbon Heights, where she had made her home for six years. In addition to her husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Virginia Livingood Green; her sister, Imogene Green Merriss; and her precious daughter, Susan Rene’ Hinkle.

Hazel was a graduate of Paris High School, Class of 1951, a member of First Baptist Church, Paris, where she served as church secretary, as well as an active soloist in the choir and sang for many weddings in Paris.

She is survived by a nephew, Dennis Hinkle of Paris; aunt, Addie Green, Mount Sterling; cousins, Diana and Linda Green of Mount Sterling, Sandy Green of Maryland; and friends, Lelia Henry, Carolyn Shields, Tonja Hamilton, Morgan Mingua, Shelby Mills, Wendell Rogers, Dr. Nathan Moore, and staff and employees of Bourbon Heights Unit 1.

Funeral service for Hazel M. Hinkle will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Paris Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Kyle Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to First Baptist Church, 919 Pleasant Street, Paris, Kentucky 40361 or Paris Animal Welfare Society, 6 Legion Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
