James Paul Fay, 74, a retired Walmart department manager, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born June 29, 1947, in Harrison County, son of the late Henry Martin Fay and Ernestine Mamie Mastin Morris. Jimmy was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation.

He is survived by two sisters, Rose Mary (Harry) Laytart, Linda Cole; a brother, Charles Edward (Brenda) Fay; and a son James Paul Fay Jr. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, April Ann Fay; a brother, William Joseph Fay; and a sister, Elizabeth Jane Horton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Rev. Daniel Fister with interment in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Hunter, Cole Banner, Gary Cole, Harry Wayne Laytart, Adam Hurst, and Jeff Laytart. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Nathan Moore, Michael Horton, Mike Himes, Bette Edwards, and Lorraine and John Smoot.
