Obituary for James Marion "Jim" Purcell Jr.
James M. Purcell Jr., age 85, of Winchester, a retired IBM employee, passed away on Sunday,
January 1, 2023. He was born April 8, 1937 in Paris, son of the late James M. and Goldie Mae
Burton Purcell and attended Bourbon County schools.
Jim is survived by a son, David (Deborah) Purcell; two daughters, Sophia Hurst, Dawn (Richard)
Caulfield; brother, Wayne (Mary) Purcell; a nephew, Mike (Amy) Purcell and his children Jackson and
Kyndall; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a special cousin, Billy Allen Wagoner.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local veterans organization.
