James Russell “Tip” Tipton, Jr., of Paris, departed this life on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, having attained the age of 57 years of age. James was born on June 13, 1964, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, the son of James Tipton, Sr., and Susie Ishmael Tipton. He was a 1982 graduate of Bourbon County High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a shipping clerk. He enjoyed spending time fishing and golfing.

In addition to his parents, James and Susie, surviving is a son, Matthew Ryan Tipton; a daughter, Amanda Renee Tipton; a brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Gayle Tipton. Also surviving are his uncles, William Tipton and his wife Carolyn, Roger Ishmael and his wife Terri; an aunt, Donna Yazell and her husband Leslie; and a niece, Hannah Tipton.

The funeral service for James Russell “Tip” Tipton, Jr., will be at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Tony Tipton, Mike Tipton, Tim Tipton, Jeff Banta, Steven Browning, and Jeff Hollon. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
