Obituary for Janice Long (Doyle)

Janice Doyle Long of Paris, widow of Larry Wendall Long, departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, with family by her side, having attained the age of 75 years. She was born on March 03, 1945, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, the daughter of W.O. Doyle, Jr. and Helen Hamilton Doyle; was a graduate of Bourbon County High School; retired, having worked as a secretary for the Department of Social Services for forty-seven years; and was a member of Bedford Acres Christian Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Lee Ann Moyers (Mark Kendrick); a son, Larry Wesley Long and his wife Kelly Long; grandchildren, Kelsee Elizabeth Thornton (Brent Earlywine), Wesley Owen Long, and Hannah Hughes (Jake Hughes). Also surviving are three step great grandchildren, Noah, Aria, and Elli Hughes, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service for Janice Doyle Long will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Greg Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being Wes Long, John Doyle, Billy Doyle, Samuel Reynolds, Brent Earlywine, Glen Ferrell, and Clay Crump. Honorary bearers are John Bates, Charles M. Flora, Carolyn Barlow, Sheree Combs, Doris Oliver, Melissa Palis, and Pat Jones. Visitation will be on Sunday evening, June 28, 2020, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
