Obituary for Keith Mers
William Keith Mers, age 49, son of Violet Mers and the late William C. Mers, died on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was a 1991 graduate of Mason County High School and went to Maysville Community College as well as the University of Kentucky, and was a member of Mays Lick Baptist Church. Keith loved sports and Keenland horse races. Most of all, he loved being an uncle and great uncle.
Surviving is his sister, Kathy Parrett (Michael); two nieces Christi Halverson (Tim), and Beth A. McFerron (Brandon). Also surviving are two great nieces, Peyton Williamson, Gracelynn McFerron; two great nephews, Trenton McFerron, and Wyatt Halverson.
The funeral service for William Keith Mers will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. David Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Garden in Washington, Kentucky with casket bearers being David Faulconer, Michael Parrett, James Zeigler, Scott Sanders, Brandon McFerron, and Shane Taylor. Honorary Bearers are Terry Mers, Russell Sanders, Doug Owen, George Mitchell, Tim Halverson, and Ron Ruele. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
