Obituary for Lillian Stewart Plummer (Yazell)
Lillian Stewart Yazell Plummer, 78, departed this life on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born March 21, 1944, in Paris, daughter of the late Carl and Lena Walton Yazell and was a 1962 graduate of Bourbon County High School. Lillian was the former owner and operator of Lillian's Beauty Nook and was a retired teacher's aide for Paris Independent School System. She was a member of Old Union Christian Church where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship.
Lillian is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Jack Nelson Plummer; a daughter, Pamela Renee McFarland (Bart); a son, Steven Wayne Plummer (Shonna and her children Taylor, Madelyn, and Gunner); grandson, Houston Clay McFarland; and a granddaughter, Hagan Elizabeth McFarland. Also surviving are siblings, Mollie Woods, Thelma Bentley, Betty Tucker, Martha Rankin, Janice Price, Carl Yazell Jr.; and forty-seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lena Yazell; and siblings, Dorthy Yazell, Stella Cozine, Mildred Gracey, Florine Mastin, Russel Yazell, and Charles Yazell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May11, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Scott Winkler officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Wayne Rankin, Steven Plummer, Bart McFarland, Houston McFarland, Hagan McFarland, Tony Rankin, and Carl Yazell, Jr. Honorary bearers are Dr. Murray West, Faye Tanner, Rose Marie Plummer, and Lillian’s nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special appreciation to the staff at Bourbon Heights.
