I did not know Lois very well... but my dear mother in law Mary Hinkle ('Boots' Hinkle) thought the world of Lois. They worked together at the Bourbon County Health Department. Mama Boots started working there after having worked for many years for a local dentist Dr. Gingles.
She enjoyed her time there and especially her time with the other staff. She died somewhat unexpectedly in September of 2010 so she and Lois were around the same age.
Our sympathies to all the family. It is hard to lose a loved one even when one knows they cannot get well.
