Obituary for Lydia Marie Lovell (Vance)

Lydia Marie Vance Lovell, 73, was born on November 24, 1948, in Flagstaff, Arizona, and passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juana Sedillo Vance and Harold Archie Vance. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Nita/Niki/Tita), sister, aunt and Maestra.
Lydia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Walter Burl Lovell; her two sons, Jonathan Lee (Carrie) Lovell, Joshua Clay (Holly) Lovell; grandchildren, Mallory Kate Lovell, Max Benjamin Lovell, Hadley Davis Lovell, and Walter Case Lovell; siblings, Evelyn Vance, Harold Vance, Teresa Vance Babers, Christina Vance Halli, Paul Vance, Dolly Vance and several nieces and nephews.
SeƱora Lovell was a retired Spanish Language teacher for the Bourbon County Schools (27 years), retired part-time ESL teacher for Bourbon County Adult Education Department (8 years), and part-time Spanish Enrichment Teacher for St. Mary Catholic School, Paris, Ky. (3 years); a retired life member of NEA and KRTA. A Catholic, Lydia was a member of Church of the Annunciation Parish, Paris, Kentucky for the last 50 years.
Lydia loved her family, her flowers, the Kentucky Wildcats, the beach and was passionate about teaching. Above all, she cherished every second with her family and loved each of them fiercely.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Church of Annunciation, followed by private graveside service. Casket bearers being Lovell family members. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. www.hintonturner.com
