Obituary for Marie Dudley Forsythe (Keller)
Marie Dudley Keller Forsythe, wife of Bruce Hart Forsythe, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was born in Paris, daughter of the late Henry Taylor Keller and Martha Anderson Talbot Keller Richard. Dudley was a graduate of Paris High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and was a member of the Jemima Johnson Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary, Historical Paris-Bourbon County, Stephens College Alumni Association, life-time member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, and former member of the Paris Lioness Club and Paris Lions Club.
Dudley is survived by her husband, Bruce; a son, Clay Thomas Forsyth; daughter, Margaret Anne Forsythe (Joe) Showalter; former daughter-in-law, Angela Gordon (John) Hayes; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Hart (Donnie) Spencer, Lauren Clay (Andrew) Biddle, Sarah Kathryn Hager (Nick Morgan), Garrard Clay Forsythe (Luz Najera); step grandchildren, Morgan Showalter (Derek Yoho), Madison Showalter (Clayton) McAlmond, Kendyll Clark, Abigale Clark, Garrett Clark; four great grandchildren, Ellison Hart Spencer, William Montgomery “Liam” Biddle, Mason Keller Biddle, John Andrew Biddle; cousins, William Garrard (June) Talbot IV, Elizabeth Talbot Megibben, Thomas Winn Talbot, Sara Wells (Clint) Sherrod; nieces, Martha Dudley Morrison (Jonathan) Jones, Elizabeth Talbot Morrison (Mike) Whitwell, and Susan Morrison Caitlin; and nephews, Stephen Perry Wornall, Robert Bruce Wornall, and Hume Payne (Kim) Wornall. She was preceded in death by a son, Mason Hart Forsythe and his wife, Susan Anderson Forsythe; sister, Anne Talbot Keller Morrison; and special cousins, Franklin Talbot Sledd and Thomas Hart Sledd.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, by Dr. Larry W. Bishop with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Clay Forsyth, Joe Showalter, Garrard Forsythe, Donnie Spencer, Andrew Biddle, Karen Wigglesworth, Dr. Nathan Moore, and Brian Washington. Honorary bearers will be Betsy Megibben, Bud Talbot, Tuck Talbot, Steve Wornall, Bruce Wornall, Hume Wornall, Clyde Parsons, and Jane Lee Courtney.
