Melvin Sands Richards, 60, Skyview Drive, Paris husband of Diana Ward Richards died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the U.K. Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the D.A.V. American Legion Millersburg Post and a recipient of two purple hearts. He is survived by a daughter Dawn Jefferson, sons Damien Shawn (Kelley) Richards, Joseph Mitchell (Velvet) Justice 10 grandchildren, sisters Susan (Lou) Cronis, Virginia Penny, brothers James Richards, Mario Richards and step-mother Margarita Richards. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Reed. Inurnment will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County. Honorary bearers Daryle Hurt, Eddie Harms, Arlon James, Myles Muntz, Lewis Nunnelly and Dick Howells. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Paris High School Band.
