Obituary for Norma Mae "Nornie" Adair (Mastin)

Norma Mae “Nornie” Adair, widow of Carey Mason Adair, died on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Bourbon Heights. Nornie was born on April 11, 1921 in Bourbon County, the daughter of the late Rankin R. and Edna Huffman Mastin. She was a 1939 graduate of Paris High School and attended Transylvania University. She was a member and Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. Nornie served as a Girl Scout volunteer for many years, served as President of Central Kentucky Girl Scouts Council, and retired as a registrar with the Wilderness Road Council with 20 years of service
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Sam Sousley. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Adair Sousley of Paris, Julie Leatherwood (Larry) of Waynesville, North Carolina; two grandsons, Blanton Clay Sousley of Lexington, Marc Adair Sousley (Anna) of Sydney, Australia; a great granddaughter, Ava Louise Mae Sousley; and a great grandson, Austin Ray Murray Sousley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on her 98th birthday, Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) by Dr. Henry Hanna with inurnment in the Paris Cemetery. Honorary bearers will be Jim Haag, Joe Larry Eads, Forrest Jackson, Matt Sears, David Tuttle, Hume Wornall, Bruce Wornall, Glynn Gregory, Pat Conley, Larry Leatherwood, Bob Thompson, Forrest Fightmaster, and Doug Tuttle. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to First Christian Church Capital Campaign, Bluegrass Hospice Care, or Bourbon Heights Nursing Home.
