Obituary for Ray C. Abner Sr.

Ray C. Abner, Sr., widower of Geneva Katherine “Kathy” Lemons Abner, departed this life unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 4, 2021, having attained the age of 69 years. He was born in Paris, Kentucky on January 11, 1952, the son of the late Raymond and Daisy Puckett Abner, a veteran of the United States Army, a retired employee for the Bourbon County school system, and member of Wagoners Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James Arthur Abner, Calvin Cornelius Abner, Kenneth Eugene Abner, Roy Allen Abner; five sisters, Virginia Gayle Modica, Betty Case, Alberta Jefferson, Linda Gail Spencer, and Audrey May Abner.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda (Kelly) Frodelius; sons, Ray C. Abner, Jr., Raymond (Jamie) Abner, and James Robert (Tiffany) Abner; grandchildren, Madison Frodelius, Aaron Ray Abner, Kordell Frodelius, Adriana Brooke Abner, Katherine Ann Frodelius, James Scott Abner, and Daelynn Averina Abner. Also surviving is a great grandson, Corbin Martin; and one sister, Carol Sue Stephens.

The funeral service for Ray C. Abner, Sr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Deanna Case Boling officiating. Interment will follow in Wagoners Cemetery in Cynthiana, Kentucky with bearers being Aaron Ray Abner, Kordell Frodelius, Jeff Abner, Brad Case. Heath Buckler, and Calvin Abner. Honorary bearers are Adriana Brooke Abner, Katherine Ann Frodelius, Daelynn Averina Abner, James Scott Abner, and Corbin Martin. Visitation will be on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and after 12:00 noon on Tuesday. www.hintonturner.com
