Rose Marie Lucas, 61, wife of Billy Joe Lucas, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY after battling some ongoing health issues. Rose Marie was born in Carlisle, KY and was the ninth and youngest child born to the late Oney and Lorene Hudson Barbee. She grew up in Paris, KY and attended Bourbon County High School.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Neil Crump; two daughters, Crimson (David) Lauria, Nicolette (Jason) Techau; four grandchildren, Cassidy Gilvin, Kyra Mefford, Braylon Wagner, Kylie Techau; two stepchildren, Brenda Lucas, Lawrence Lucas; two step grandchildren, Noah Highland, Mariam Lucas; one brother, Tony Barbee; four sisters, Carolyn Overly, Louise (Ronnie) Powell, Sue (Mark) Terrill, Frances (Paul) Fryman; "adopted" sons, Stephen Platt, Jimmy Clough; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Barbee, Noble Barbee; and a sister, Darlene Ritchie.

Marie was a faithful servant of God and received great joy from reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and watching horror movies. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything and always received the most joy from talking with and spending time with them. While she will be missed tremendously, we receive much joy in knowing that she will forever be in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, until we meet again.

A private memorial service for friends and family to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
