Rufus Hartman, Jr., husband of Lorie Thacker Williams Hartman, departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at his home in Little Rock, Kentucky, with family by his side, having attained the age of 88 years. He was born in Bourbon County on November 20, 1931, the son of the late Rufus Miller and Blanche Jones Hartman, attended school at Millersburg High School, a veteran of the United States Army, a long time farmer, a member of Hope Lodge #246, F&AM, and a member of Peyton’s Lick Christian Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Hinkle Hartman; grandsons, Jeffrey Dailey, Travis Snapp; two sisters, Geneva Hartman, Hazel Beatty; and a great granddaughter, Macie Snapp.

In addition to his wife, Lorie, he is survived by his children, Earlene Susan (Mike) Gibbons, and Jenny Lynn (Tim) Costello, Patrick Wayne (Ruth) Hartman, Rufus Miller Hartman, III, Donna Williams, and Hank (Tammy) Williams. Also surviving is a sister, Beulah (Jim) Greene; grandchildren, Martha (Cliff) Walter, Carla Craig, Timothy Costello, Rachel (Joe) Elice, Matthew Costello, Jonathan Hartman, Owen Hartman, Utah Hartman, Joe Gibbons, HollyAnn Gibbons, Garrett Gibbons, Gregory Willoughby, Dustin (Hannah) Williams, Riley Williams, Megan and Allison, Ellen Livengood, Anne Livengood, Ivy Livengood; as well as great grandchildren, Ashleigh Hill, Vence Hill, Brandon Hill, DezaRay Hall, Briahna Hall, Ripley Martin, Gabe Craig, Lucas Elice, James Elice, Emma Elice, Jacie Snapp, Austin Snapp, Kaylynn Matthews, Corbin Matthews, Easton Matthews, Trevor Evans, Rhyann Gibbons, Sara (Neil) Weiser, Cora (Ryan) Reed; and great, great grandchildren, Eleanor Weiser, Oliver Weiser, Miles Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a private graveside service with Masonic Rites and Military Honors with Rev. Chuck Perry officiating. Inurnment will follow in Peyton’s Lick Cemetery. I was so shocked and sad to read of Jr.'s passing.. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great cousin and one I will never forget. To all of his family, my love and prayers that God will provide all the strength necessary to get you through these difficult moments...
