Obituary for Sandra Jo Smits (Workman)

Sandra Jo Workman Smits, widow of Adrian “Dunor” Smits, Jr., departed this life on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, having attained the age of 61 years. Sandra was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, on July 14, 1960, the daughter of the late George Thomas Workman and Nan Parks Rogers, who survives. She was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, the former business office manager for Bourbon Community Hospital, Dr. Kenneth Brodsky, and Home Health Agency, and of the Christian faith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mary Mason Workman, a half-brother, Danny Ray Workman, and a step-brother, John Thomas Workman.

Along with her mother Nan Parks Rogers, surviving is a son, Sgt. Mark Daniel Easley; a granddaughter, Allison Easley; three sisters, Kathy (Pete) Banks, Betsy Grey, and Jennifer Chisum; brothers, George Kirby, Kenneth Covert, Danny Mason Workman, and Jimmy Dean Workman. Also surviving are extended family members, sister, Carolyn, and brothers, Eugene, and Kevin Rogers; a special friend and caregiver, Faye Williams; along with several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Sandra Jo Workman Smits, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Hobert “Bud” Clemons, Jr., Trey Kenney, George Kirby, Hobert “Bud” Clemons, III, Charles Williams, Jr. and Taylor Kenney.
