Obituary for Shari Lynn Collis (Lampshire)

Shari Lynn Collis, 76, a long-time Ogden, Utah resident, passed away at home on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Born on October 11, 1945 in Soda Springs, Idaho, she was the eldest of two children of Edward Engle and Hattie Ann Gibson Lampshire.
An ‘Air Force brat’, Shari was raised all over the United States and even lived for a while in Japan while her father was stationed there. She graduated from Altus, Oklahoma in 1963 and married shortly thereafter. She had one son, William Patrick Collis, and then later she divorced.
Shari had a three decade-long career for General Telephone in Lexington, Kentucky, retiring and moving to Ogden prior to the new millennium. Shari then worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring a second time after a decade with them.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shari was dedicated to researching her family genealogy. She loved visiting with her cousins and travelling and vacationing with them. She also loved her dog, “Bitsie” and was saddened at her passing just a couple of months ago.
More than anything, Shari loved her three grandchildren, Alli (Josh) Davis; Tyler (McKalyn) Collis; and Mackenzie Collis; and her great-grandson, Kyler Collis. She also had a special relationship with her cousins, many of whom she treated more like siblings.
Shari is survived by her son, William Patrick (Sandee) Collis, Paris, KY; by her aforementioned posterity, and by her brother, Don Lampshire, Bossier City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her little “Bitsie.”
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles H. Kemp officiating. Burial will be in the Clintonville Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Tyler Collis, Mackenzie Collis, Matthew King, Chance Roberson, Jeremy King, and Jonathan King. www.hintonturner.com
