Steven Allen Gaunce, age 65 of Paris, passed away on June 2, 2019 at Christian Care Communities in Corbin, after an extended illness. He was born on November 12, 1953 in Paris, the son of Bobbye Caywood Gaunce of Paris and the late Jefferson William “J.W.” Gaunce. A graduate of Paris High School, he became a Master Electrician as well as a musician, songwriter, and recording engineer and was a former trumpet player for Xanthus. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Besides his mother, Bobbye, he is survived by a brother, Jeff Caywood Gaunce of Independence, KY; an aunt, Betty Flora of Paris; and a nephew, Joseph Robert Tackett (Mandy).
The funeral service for Steven Allen Gaunce will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Bell and Dr. Henry Hanna officiating. Interment to follow in Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being David Gaunce, Jr., Carl "Buddy” Gaunce, Larry Gaunce, Wayne Caywood, James M. Lovell, and Burl Lovell. Honorary bearers are, Bill T. McConnell, Jimmy Mason, Bruce Ratliff,Jason Ratliff, Rick Wagner, Gerald Fields, and Lewis Stubblefield. The family request friends to call after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
