William Gregg “Bill” Case, of Paris, husband of Virginia Coffman Case, departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Bourbon Heights, having attained the age of 86 years. Bill was born in Bourbon County on January 28, 1936, the son of the late William L. and Virginia Dennis Case, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, received his Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University where he played under the legendary Coach Ed Diddle, received his Master’s degree from Georgetown, and his Rank I from Eastern Kentucky University. A veteran of the United States Army, he served active duty as a Second Lieutenant, along with the Army Reserves twenty years, retiring as a Major. During his career he coached basketball in Meade, Jessamine, and Bourbon County, as well as retiring as Principal from Bourbon County High School, a former member of the Board of Control for Kentucky High School Athletics Association, was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, as well as the Bluegrass Teachers Association. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and had worked for Kentucky Bank. In his spare time, he loved playing golf, was the club champion several times at Stoner Creek Country Club, enjoyed playing with his buddies at Houston Oaks, and was an avid dog lover.

Along with his wife Virginia, surviving is a daughter, Kim Ishmael and her husband, Jim; granddaughters, Jennifer (Clay) McMillan and Katherine (Levi) Bolin. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Henry McMillan, Elizabeth McMillan, Charlie McMillan, Everett Bolin, and Wyatt Bolin. Preceding Bill in death was his son, Timothy Gregg Case.

The graveside service for William G. “Bill” Case will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Paris cemetery with Rev. Sue McCracken officiating. Interment will immediately follow with casket bearers being Dick Letton, Dan Coffman, Eric Coffman, Lawrence Goodwin, Mark Goodwin, Joe Rudder, Jim Ishmael, Clay McMillan, Levi Bolin, and Henry McMillan.
