Hinton-Turner Funeral Home

The Service

Funerals are a long held tradition to formally honor the deceased and bring comfort to the family. You may have heard them referred to as Memorial Services or more recently, Celebrations of Life.

What we typically see is a service led by a minister, Celebrant or someone else that the family designates. In most cases this person meets with the family to seek guidance on creating a meaningful service. The more direction you give about your expectations for the service will greatly assist the officiant.

Music is a component of most services and we will ask you if you prefer traditional organ music, recorded selections or a combination. Typically, two or three songs are included in the service with other selections played prior to and as the service is dismissed. We will assist by creating a playlist of the selections you wish to have played.

The service may include someone giving a eulogy where they reminiscence about your loved one. Eulogies may be given by more than one individual.
