Al-Lee Frances Parke Carter, 85, Westwood Drive, widow of George Rankin Carter, Sr., died Saturday, September 12, 2009. She was born August 16, 1924 in Richmond, KY, daughter of the late Luther and Katura Risk Parke, a graduate of Madison Central High School, a member of Village Square Homemakers and the Clintonville Christian Church (Disciple of Christ) where she was active in the CWF. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, George Rankin and Barbara Carter, Jr., Lexington, Allen Parke and Becky Carter, Lexington, Gary Wayne and Sue Carter, Cynthiana, Nicholas Lee and Lois Carter, Paris; nine grandchildren, Chad (Tara) Carter, Shara (Jon) Hoskins, Alison Carter, Chris Carter, Tony Carter, Tonya (Jon) Hatfield, Jarrod (Julie) Carter, Logan Carter, Morgan Carter; five great grandchildren, Taylor Hatfield, Ethan Hatfield, Brennan Hoskins, Addison Hoskins, Jena Carter; nephews, Jeff Carter, Paris, Ray Carter, Lexington, Steve Parke, Florida; nieces, Barbara Ann (Billy) Tracey, Louisville, Brenda (Dave) Shewmaker, Paris, Mitzi Parke, Springfield, MO; and a brother-in-law, Paul Carter, Paris. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Kemp and Rev. Wayne Barnett with burial in the Paris Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Judy Franklin and the Elders and Elder Emeritis of the Clintonville Christian Church. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the Clintonville Christian Church Building Fund.
