Alex S. Miller, 86, 1121 Main Street, Millersburg, died February 1, 2010 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. He was born February 25, 1923 in Lexington, KY, son of the late Alex S. Miller, Sr. and Ethel Johnson Miller. He was a graduate of Millersburg Military Institute and Duke University and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and the Millersburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Catherine (Bill) Wells, Millersburg; and a grandson, Alex Wells, Millersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette O. Miller; and a son, Michael S. Miller. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. David Carr with interment in the Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Bill Wells, Donald Ritchie, Alex Wells, Silas Cleaver, John Smoot, and Bill Harney. Honorary bearers will be William V. Burroughs, Dr. Jim Johnson, Leslie Moffett Clark, Harold Letton, Stanton Summay, and Joe Davis. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kentucky Horse Council, info@KentuckyHorse.org, or the Bourbon Heights Activity Fund.
