Alice Mae Hess, 77, retired Bourbon Heights nurse's assistant, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born June 7, 1930 in Fayette County, daughter of the late Charles Douglas and Anna Lucille Stevenson Tharp and was a member of Rose Rebekah Lodge #7, IOOF. Alice is survived by a son, Walter Edward (Marlene) Hess, Paris; a special niece, Barbara Justice, Lexington; a grandson, Joshua Marvin Abner, Paris; two brothers, Jessie Harris (Norma) Thorp, William Thomas (Kathy) Thorpe, both of Paris; sister-in-law, Mary Thorpe, Lexington; a niece, Esther (Terry) McDaniel, Winchester; and two nephews, Tracy Mark (Michelle) Thorpe, Corbin, and Todd (Jennifer) Justice, Nicholasville. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Eunice Justice, Bonnie Juanita Thorp; and a brother, Charles Thorpe. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 27 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with inurnment in the Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Bourbon Heights Activity Fund.
