Alpha Omega Morton, 89, Evergreen Court, Mount Sterling, widow of Lemuel Morton, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. She was born April 6, 1918 in Breathitt County, daughter of the late McClellan and Nannie Bell Stidham Back and was a member of Little Rock Christian Church. Mrs. Morton is survived by three daughters, Judy D. (Ronald) Sullivan, Carlisle, Barbara (Ed) Melvin, Trenton, OH, Carolyn Sue (Scot) Buchholz, Union, KY; a son, Robert Lemuel (Elsie) Morton, Mount Sterling; a sister, Emma Madden, Colorado Springs, CO; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Jesse Morton; and a stepdaughter, Evelyn Robinson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Darvin Chandler with burial in the Little Slate Cemetery, Hope, KY. Casket bearers will be Greg Sallee, Jeff Sallee, Tim Sallee, Jamie Burden, Brent Burden, and Adam Morton. Honorary bearers will be Ken Morton, Ronnie Sullivan, Scot Buchholz, Ed Melvin, Ricky Harvey, Gary Chandler, Shannon Wagers, and Scott Jones. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
