Andrea Jean Bryan, 56, passed away February 15, 2011 surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff of Cedar Lake Lodge. She was born in Paris, Ky. on August 29, 1954.
She was the daughter of the late Barbara Bryan Stephens and William Burris Bryan of North Middletown, Ky. Her mother and father were co-founders of The Bourbon County Association for Retarded Children, and also very involved in establishing the Special Education Program for the Bourbon County School System.
Andrea graduated from this program in 1972, and then attended Accutran in Paris, Ky. She loved watching ballgames, especially the Cincinnati Reds and the Kentucky Wildcats. She also loved her many pets, especially Boo Boo and Tiger. Most of all, she loved a tall glass of iced tea along with a McDonald's hamburger.
Andrea is survived by two sisters, Bonnie (Steve) Thornton, Lexington, Aimee (David) Severson, Wichita, KS; a brother, William B. (Susan) Bryan Jr., Lexington; six nephews, Mitchell and Clarke Thornton, Dave Tyler, Todd, Talbott, and Dylan Severson; an uncle, F.C. Bryan; and her stepfather, William A. Stephens. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Nannie C. Howell and Aimee B. Bryan; and a special family friend, Frank Parks.
The family especially appreciates the amazing staff at Cedar Lake Lodge where Andrea resided for the past four years, and also to the kind staff at Cransye in Richmond, Ky. where she previously lived.
Funeral services will be11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Ron Berry with burial in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mitchell Thornton, Clarke Thornton, Dave Tyler Severson, Todd Severson, Talbott Severson, Dylan Severson, Lew Sharp, and Charles Clay. Honorary bearers will be Francis Carroll Bryan, William A. Stephens, Betty Ann Sharp, Susan Scott, Wilma Thornton, Kathrine Robertson, Elizabeth Miller, Jane Lowry, Olivia Updegrove, Susan Grigsby, and Mike Sharp. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
