Anthony "Doonie" Campbell, 55, North Middletown, former North Middletown police officer and Bourbon County Deputy Sheriff, husband of Scarlett "Scotty" Wever, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Bourbon Community Hospital. He was born June 4, 1955 in Bourbon County, son of Florine Jones Herrington, Paris, and Thomas F. Campbell, North Middletown, a graduate of Bourbon County High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University Police Academy, and was a member of Donaldson Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, mother, and father, Doonie is survived by two daughters, Tava Campbell, Mt. Sterling, Jenny Kay Mullins, North Middletown; a son, Adam Vice, Paris; a sister, Penny Vice, North Middletown; six grandchildren, Makayla Campbell, McKenzie Campbell, Mason Shepherd, Karah Edgington, Kerry Edgington, Connor Mullins; and his beloved dog, Lucy. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 1, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bro. Cecil Wayne Curtis and Dr. Travis Drake with burial in the North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John O. Smits, Adrian "Dunor" Smits, Jr., Chris Smith, David Craig, Ollie Brennegar, Ricky Shepherd, Adam Vice, and George Drake. Honorary bearers will be Dickie Osborne, Sparky Hinkson, Doug Stigall, Bill Bradford, Jim Stigall, Marvin Shelly, Paul Fuller, and Bruce Bryant. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Doonie Campbell Fund, 118 Lynne Drive, Paris, KY 40361.
