Barbara Padgett Carr died at home Saturday after a short illness. She was born July 8, 1933, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Padgett. She married Tinnie Carr June 24, 1951. They farmed together and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by two children, Gip (Debbie) Carr and Ann (Marvin) Watkins. She has six grandchildren, April (Jerrod) Steward, Jason (Tabitha) Carr, Amanda and Billy Mason, Cody and Devin Watkins. She has three great grandchildren, Jacob and Kassidy Steward and Levi Carr. Also, four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was known to most people as Bobbie and to some as Aunt Bob. She was a long time member of Old Union Christian Church and served on many different committees there. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Scott Winkler and Rev. Bill Bales with burial in Old Union Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jason Carr, Billy Mason, Butch Padgett, Mike Padgett, Tim Padgett, Stoney Padgett, Tom Rose, and Rickey Reed. Honorary bearers will be Donnie Colliver, Devin and Cody Watkins, Amanda Mason, April and Jerrod Steward, Tabitha Carr, Dr. Hood, Tammy Higgins, and Marvin Watkins. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
