Barbara Jean Martin, 75, North Middletown, retired secretary for North Middletown School, wife of Floyd H. Martin, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Hospice Care Center. She was born October 22, 1936 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late Silas S. and Aleta Caywood Hinkson. Barbara was a 1954 graduate of North Middletown High School, a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church, and was a Kentucky Colonel. She is also survived by a son, Larry Martin; a daughter, Darlene (Bill) Woosley; a brother, Silas S. \"Sparky\" Hinkson III, all of North Middletown; four grandchildren, Brandi (Shawn) Long, Christopher (Leslie) Martin, Katie Hall, Thomas Hall; and three great grandchildren, Miranda Miles, Landon Martin, and Easton Martin. A brother, Jackie Wayne Hinkson, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Barry Proctor and Rev. J.T. Rafferty with burial in North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Forman, Rick Claypool, Eddie Earlywine, Joe Gregory, Gary Jackson, and Donald Stamper. Deacons of Spears Mill Baptist Church will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
