Barbara Ellen McConnell, 75, East Ninth Street, retired realtor, former secretary for McConnell and Associates and teacher, died Sunday, May 06, 2007 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born July 5, 1931 in Paris, daughter of the late Raymond E. and Maude Sheeler McConnell, a 1950 graduate of Paris High School, attended Centre College and Randolph Macon, and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Barbara is survived by four nieces, Pat (John) Boardman, Paris, Teresa Robinson and Clarence Johns, Lexington, Barbara (Carl, Jr.) Gross, Lancaster, Dina (Sid) Adams, Richmond; two nephews, Bill T. (Sheila) McConnell, Paul (Lynn) McConnell, both of Paris; a great niece, Colleene (Dave) Barnett, Paris; five great nephews, Robert Riley, Texas, Steven (Dana) Boardman, Lexington, Scott (Alexandra) McConnell, Lexington, Matthew (Amy) McConnell, Paris, Todd McConnell, Lexington; and three great, great nephews, Solomon Halliburton, Paris, Dalton Boardman, and Braydon Boardman, both of Lexington. A brother, W.T. "Bill" McConnell, Sr. preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Jerri Williams with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Her great nephews will serve as casket bearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
