Ben Houston Dale, 89, retired farmer and retired employee of Bourbon Laundry, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, husband of Myrtle McGlothin Dale, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1921 in Bath County, son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lucy Hoovermale Dale and was a member of Paris Christian Chapel. Ben is also survived by a daughter, Kathy (David) Swartz, Carlisle; two grandchildren, Harvey (Rhonda) Dyer Jr., Morehead, Mary Beth (Seth) Lally, Lexington; two great grandsons, Austin and Justin Dyer; and a sister, Clarine Bowen, Pawnee, IL. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Eugene Dale and Carl H. Dale. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Don Jolly with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Harvey Dyer Jr., Johnathon Levart, John Levart, Elwood McGlothin, James McGlothin, and Mike McGlothin. Honorary bearers will be Seth Lally, Wesley Mitchell, David Swartz, John Willoughby, and Junior McGlothin. Visitation will be after 12 noon Monday. www.hinton-turnerfuneralhome.com
