Betty Fightmaster, 89, retired Metropolitan Life Insurance Company claims adjuster widow of Joe B. Fightmaster, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her home. She was born July 20, 1924 in Eagle Lake, Texas, daughter of the late Bert and Dora Martin Larmer and was a member of First Baptist Church. Betty is survived by a son, Dr. Forrest R. (Nancye) Fightmaster, Bourbon County; a daughter, Linda (Harold) Soper, Bourbon County; four grandchildren, Adrienne (Phil) Hanna, Louisville, Kari Soper (Danial) Junkin, Paris, Sarah Elizabeth Fightmaster, Lexington, Megan A. Fightmaster, Chicago; and three great grandchildren, Sara Hanna, Jake Hanna, and Eden Grace Junkin. A son, John Fightmaster, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, November 23, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Gary Ellcessor with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ed Marcum, Charles Johnston, Philip Hurst, Dickie Harris, Harold Soper, Dr. Nathan L. Moore, and Bill Burden. Honorary bearers will be her care givers, Jane Barlow, Mary Ann Sturm, Viola Ritchie, and Jackie Snapp. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or First Baptist Church.
